Financial technology platform for generating cash flow management plans
Overview
CacheFlo built cash flow reporting software for financial advisors. Advisors used the platform to create Cash Flow Plans for their clients — essentially an LMS with report-generation software layered on top. Advisors would walk clients through structured financial planning workflows and produce professional deliverables at the end.
My role
I joined as a junior developer and became Lead Developer within three months. I managed a team of six developers as the company grew to 20 people.
What I built
I worked across the full product: the advisor-facing planning workflows, the learning management layer, and the reporting engine that turned plan data into client-ready documents.
The stack was AngularJS on the frontend, Node.js on the backend, and SQL databases underneath — a classic mid-2010s fintech monolith that needed to be reliable enough for advisors managing real client money.
The hardest problem
Automatic templated PDF generation. Advisors needed polished, branded cash flow reports generated from live plan data — without manual formatting. Getting layout, pagination, and dynamic financial tables right in automated PDF output was a persistent engineering challenge.
Outcome
CacheFlo scaled from a small team to 20 people while I grew from junior dev to lead. The platform became the core tool advisors used to deliver cash flow plans to their client base.
